How to find your Ruffwear dog's boot size

Many dogs have wider front paws than rear paws. We offer our boots in sets of two, so you can order the appropriate sizes for a good fit on both the front and rear paws. For accurate measurements, please have your dog stand on a piece of paper and mark the widest (side to side) of their foot with full weight on that paw, then measure the distance between the marks. Make sure to measure both front and back paws.

How to help your dog adjust to dog boots

After a short adjustment period, the majority of dogs become accustomed to wearing their boots. Initially, you may notice some high stepping or prancing behavior as they cannot feel the floor. To help your dog become familiar with the dog boots, start by allowing them to wear the boots for short periods of time, all the while providing encouragement and positive reinforcement.
